It’s OK To Be Quiet
Culture today seems obsessed with finding our voice, our platform, our audience, in order to share our thoughts and our ideas. Overall, I like this trend. Information on all kinds of topics is more readily available than ever before. I personally have benefited from numerous online trainings, podcasts, and articles that have shaped me into a better person. (And here I am sending you a weekly email about my thoughts.) So, if you are passionate about something, I hope that you will continue to find ways to share your wisdom and perspective with the world.
However, it is also possible to get caught up in the hampster-wheel of our own minds in such a way that we lose our sense of balance and peace. So today I offer a simple reminder:
You don’t always have to have something to say.
It’s OK to be still, to be silent, to listen, to ponder, to not know the answer. When you have something to say, great, then say it with love and conviction. But in the meantime, relax, take yourself a little less seriously, and remember that it’s OK to just be as you are.
Happy to be in your corner,
Tom
